We stock and install Elite-compatible welding and fabrication parts across Austin, with most hinge, bracket, and gate frame repairs running $285 – $640 installed depending on the damage and your specific Elite model. Same-day service is available for weld failures and broken hardware in most Austin neighborhoods, from Round Rock down to Buda. The way owners usually find us: the gate starts dragging on the ground, a hinge tears loose, or the frame cracks near the operator mount and the motor starts straining against metal that’s no longer square.
Which Elite Models This Applies To
Elite gate systems are built with two distinct fabrication styles that matter when you’re buying parts. The SL3000 and SL5000 series slide gates use a track-mount frame with welded steel uprights, while the SW and CSW swing gate lines depend on weld-on hinge assemblies that take real stress every time the gate opens. The part you need depends on which you own, and the quickest way to tell is that white data tag on the gate motor or the frame rail. It lists the series number and manufacture date, and it’s the first thing we ask about when you call.
For Elite specifically, we recommend OEM or weld-fabricated equivalents over generic aftermarket brackets. Generic parts often have bolt-hole spacing that’s close but not exact, and on an Elite gate, a bracket that’s off by a half inch puts the operator out of alignment and kills the motor bearings faster. Warden Gate Repair Austin is an independent service provider, not affiliated with Elite, but we carry the right specs on the truck because Cole grew up working gates in Southern California and learned early that “close enough” isn’t a thing on a 400-pound swing gate.

Signs Your Elite Welding & Fabrication Is Failing
- The gate sags or drags at the latch end. A hinge weld has stretched or cracked, and the gate is now carrying its weight on the wrong points. It won’t get better on its own.
- The motor hums but the gate barely moves. The drive bracket or chain mount has shifted out of alignment, and the operator is fighting steel instead of moving it. That strain shortens the motor’s life fast.
- You see a fresh crack around a weld point, especially near the operator mount. Vibration from opening and closing concentrates at the mounting plate. Once a crack starts, it grows with every cycle.
- The gate shudders or jumps when it starts or stops. A loose weld on the frame or a worn hinge pin lets the gate catch and release against the operator, which reads as a stutter at the drive wheel.
- Rust staining runs down from a hinge or bracket. Austin’s humidity plus occasional hard freezes means moisture creeps into any exposed weld, rusts it from the inside, and weakens the steel before the outside shows damage.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
Most Elite welding and fabrication repairs in Austin fall into three tiers. A simple hinge or bracket re-weld runs $285 – $410, including grinding out the old weld, refitting the part, and painting. A frame repair or full hinge replacement runs $420 – $640, which covers removing the gate, straightening or rebuilding the section, and re-hanging it square. A full weld-on bracket set with operator realignment runs $500 – $750 when the motor mount has torn loose and everything needs to be re-squared after fabrication.
Every price we quote is a written number you approve before any work starts. No surprise line items when the truck pulls away. That’s the whole point of the way Warden Gate Repair does business: the price you agree to is the price you pay. The work itself carries the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If the weld fails or the gate drops out of alignment within a year, we come back and fix it free.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check the obvious stuff: tighten the hinge bolts, clear debris from the track, and look for visible cracks or rust staining so you can tell us exactly what you’re seeing. What we’d suggest you not do is grind out a weld and try to re-weld a gate hinge yourself. Welding on a gate that’s still carrying tension, or on a frame that’s shifted out of square, doesn’t just produce a bad weld. It can let go under load, and a 400-pound gate dropping off its hinges is a genuinely dangerous thing. There’s also the electrical side if the operator mount is involved: high-tension hardware and 24-volt operator wiring sit too close to the weld point for casual work. Let a trained professional handle fabrication on a live gate.
If the gate is making noise or dragging, call us at (361) 268-6253 and describe what it’s doing. Cole’s standing rule on the phone is simple: “Tell me exactly what it’s doing and I’ll tell you exactly what it costs.”
FAQs
A properly fabricated and painted hinge or bracket on an Elite gate typically lasts 8 to 12 years in Central Texas, though gates near pool equipment or in low-lying Austin areas see corrosion sooner. Regular inspection catches cracks before they become failures.
Yes, in most cases a cracked frame rail or hinge point can be ground out, re-welded, and reinforced with a gusset plate, saving the cost of a full gate replacement. The exception is when rust has thinned the steel so much that welding burns through, and then replacement is the only honest answer. Call (361) 268-6253 and we’ll tell you which one you have.
Most hinge and bracket repairs are finished in one visit, usually 2 to 4 hours including setup, welding, paint, and re-hanging the gate square. Full frame rebuilds can take a second morning, and we’ll tell you that before we start.
We stock common Elite hinge sets, weld-on brackets, and reinforcement plates on our trucks, along with parts for LiftMaster, Mighty Mule, and Ghost Controls systems. If your Elite model needs a part we don’t have, we order it and schedule the repair once it’s in hand. Estimates are free, and the price is written before any work starts.
